Older Americans Month Virtual Town Halls with Congresswoman Underwood @ Virtual

Help spread the word to your friends, family, and members of your retiree group and encourage them to join the Illinois Alliance for Retired Americans as we host two Older Americans Month Virtual Town Halls w/special guests Congresswoman Lauren Underwood and Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky!

We will honor Congresswoman Underwood and Congresswoman Schakowsky with the 2022 Alliance for Retired Americans Retiree Hero Award for their flawless voting records on issues impacting seniors and workers, and will hear from them the challenges and opportunities for our priorities in Congress.

We’ll also be joined by movement leaders from the Alliance for Retired Americans, Caring Across Generations, and Citizen Action IL who will share what you can do to help advance investment in our nation’s care infrastructure, push back against threats to Social Security, and mobilize to move lawmakers to take action to lower the cost of prescription drugs!

Adopt A Highway Cleanup

The Kane County Democrats will be doing our annual Adopt a Highway cleanup on May 20th at 5:00pm. Pizza and light snacks will be provided beforehand.

Please meet at Steve’s house, 1707 Patricia Lane St Charles, and after pizza, we will clean the west side of Kirk Rd between Division and Main St in St Charles. We will have garbage bags and gloves. Dress appropriately for the weather. It is NOT rain or shine, but baring that we will be good to go.

Memorial Day Parade with Sen. Villa and Judge Carmago @ Downtown Aurora

Free Veterans’ Breakfast with Rep Hirschauer @ VFW Post 6791

Representative Hirschauer is a member of the Illinois House of Representatives Veterans’ Affairs Committee. She is inviting local veterans to share their thoughts on legislation and how it affects military veterans, their families, and communities, over breakfast at the VFW in West Chicago.
