The Elgin Township Democrats are organizing another Food Drive this year and we need your help to help those less fortunate in our community.

Drop Off Times and Locations

Saturday Aug 14, 2021, 9:00am – 1:00pm

  • Settler’s Park (West Side)
  • Gail Borden Library (Corner lot)
  • Carl and Cherryl Strathmann’s House
  • Elgin Township or South Elgin (Location Pending)

What We Need

  • Non-perishable food items such as: cereal, canned foods, granola bars, peanut butter, pasta, rice.
  • Cleaning supplies such as: sponges, paper towels, laundry detergent, bleach, all purpose cleaners, dish soap.
  • Toiletries such as: soap, deodorant, razors, feminine hygiene products, shower gel.

All donations and proceeds go to Elgin Cooperative Ministry (ECM) & The Community Crisis Center. Donations by check should be made out to ECM.

This August, Lauren Underwood will be hosting a series of town halls in communities across the 14th District.  Starting the week of August 9, I will hold in-person town hall meetings in Crystal Lake, Geneva, and Oswego. The town halls will be an opportunity to hear an update on my work in Congress for our community, share concerns, and ask questions.

Elburn Days Parade with the Western Kane Dems @ Downtown Elburn
Join the Western Kane Democrats (Blackberry, Campton, Plato, Kaneville, Virgil and Burlington townships) and march in the annual Elburn Days parade! This is a great, short parade that always has awesome turnout with a lot of support!
We’re honored to have Senator Karina Villa, KC State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser, and KC Chairwoman Corinne Pierog marching with us this year as well!
Don your Democratic garb, bring an issues-based sign you care about or candy or other relevant SWAG to hand out to the children and join us for this fun evening parade!
We are #23 in the parade and will be lining up on West Reader Street between Read and Babock Sts. Please make sure you are there no later than 5:30pm, step off is at 6:00pm. Walkers should park at Lions Park and meet us!
