Hosted by John Kaiser, Leslie Adame and Aynur Namik
On August 9th, 2014, Michael Brown was fatally shot 6 times by Officer Darren Wilson. Michael was only 18 years old when he took his last breath. Six bullets took Michael’s life. Six too many! Michael’s life was cut short over alleged stolen product, in a conflict that lasted around 90 seconds.
Sadly, the story of Michael Brown is not a new one, nor is it rare. The list for names of Black Lives that have been lost at the hands of officers is too long. However, the officers are not the only problems facing our country. The systemically racist institutions that protect those violent officers are another part of the unequal, and unjust, America we live in.
So now, we must demand a change and say “Enough is Enough.” Let us come together and show our support for Black Lives and for social reforms.
We will be gathering at Huffman Park, then proceed to a peaceful and socially-distanced march, and end up back at Huffman Park for a peaceful rally.
Due to the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that you please wear a mask or face-covering and social distance to the best of your ability.
