In light of the current situation with the Texas Lawmakers under attack, we are going to host an emergency rally/protest Saturday, August 16 from 11:30– 1:00 at Silver Glen and Randall Road, South Elgin.

About the event

In light of the current situation with the Texas Lawmakers under attack, we are going to host an emergency rally/protest Saturday, August 16 from 11:30 – 1:00 at Silver Glen and Randall Road, South Elgin.

We realize this is short notice but we are living in unprecedented times and need to step up when we can. Please plan to bring your signs, flags and energy – and someone new. Let’s have a huge turn out – and get more people involved!! Remember this is a peaceful rally – and we won’t be distracted from our message!

There is parking throughout the shopping center adjacent to the rally site. Please consider not parking in open small business’ areas.

Please consider visiting the stores in that center. They have been patient with us and we want to continue to support small business owners.

We will take donations for local crisis center:

  • Ground Coffee
  • Powder coffee creamer
  • 12-16 oz paper or styrofoam coffee cups
  • Disposable bowls
  • Feminine Hygiene products
  • Forever Postal Stamps
  • Laundry Detergent

The Texas House Democrats are denying quorum to stop the Trump takeover of Texas and block his attempt to rig the 2026 midterm elections. But Trump isn’t stopping in Texas. He’s targeting Missouri, Ohio, Florida, and every state he can twist to help him steal Congress next year. States like California and New York are starting to fight back.

Let’s be clear: this fight started in Texas, but it doesn’t end there. This isn’t just about redistricting or one state’s politics. It’s about the future of our democracy. Trump is terrified of the American people. He knows he can’t win on his ideas, so he’s trying to take Congress by hook or by crook–and he’s doing it by silencing the voices of communities of color. We’re not going to let that happen.

Together we will demand a world that works for all of us.
