Pingree Grove Independence Day Parade

The Rutland Township Democrats and Kane County Democrats are excited to participate in the Pingree Grove Independence Day Parade! 🎆
This community celebration brings together families, neighbors, local organizations, and community groups for an afternoon of patriotic fun, community spirit, and summer celebration.
We’re looking for volunteers to help us create a fun, welcoming, and energetic presence in the parade.
Volunteers may help with:
- Walking in the parade
- Carrying banners or signs
- Handing out candy, flyers, or giveaways
- Helping with lineup and staging
- Taking photos/video for social media
- Bringing positive energy and community spirit throughout the event
This is a family-friendly event and a great opportunity to meet fellow volunteers, connect with the community, and represent Democratic values of inclusion, opportunity, civic participation, and people-powered organizing.
Additional details including lineup location, arrival time, parking information, and attire recommendations will be shared closer to the event date.

Your Staging Number: Pingree Grove/Gilberts Democrats # 43
Parade Route
The parade route is approximately 1.5 miles and will travel from Alta Vista & Lake Bluff (High Point Subdivision) to the Charter School at Cambridge Lakes Drive & Wester Boulevard.
Parade Staging Area
The staging area will be located within the High Point Subdivision on Lake Bluff Lane, Broadland, and Prospect, beginning at 3:00 PM.
All parade vehicles MUST enter the staging area heading east on Lake Bluff Lane. Any participants being dropped off should also follow the designated traffic flow. Upon arrival, volunteers stationed on Alta Vista (near the park) will direct you to your assigned location. Please follow their instructions and remember they are volunteering their time to help make this event successful.
If your group has multiple vehicles, please plan to arrive together so we can stage your entry as a unit. All participants must check in with a parade volunteer before proceeding to their assigned location.
We have spaced parade entries as best as possible within the available staging area. Please keep vehicles and participants in your group close together. The staging area is busy with both pedestrian and vehicle traffic, so please use caution and remain aware of your surroundings.
Important Reminders
- No parking may be left on staging area streets.
- Please keep children out of the roadway whenever possible.
- Be respectful of homeowners’ property throughout the staging area.
General Parade Information
- Parade Step-Off: 4:00 PM sharp
- Maximum parade speed: 5 MPH
- Candy or giveaways should be handed out by walkers or gently tossed toward the grass/curb area.
- For spectator safety, please do not throw or drop candy/giveaways in the middle of the street.
- Be mindful of other participants around you, including walkers, vehicles, golf carts, and larger entries.
- Please do not leave large gaps between entries. Large gaps can cause spectators to think the parade has ended.
Additional Important Reminders
⚠️ PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE STAGING AREA IS LOCATED IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD.
Families and residents must be able to access their homes throughout the afternoon. Please be courteous, avoid blocking driveways, intersections, mailboxes, and roadways, and follow all directions from parade volunteers. Residents should not be inconvenienced from entering or leaving their homes because of parade staging activities.
🚫 NO PARKING IS ALLOWED ANYWHERE IN THE STAGING NEIGHBORHOOD.
Any vehicles not participating in the parade should be parked outside of the staging area. To make things easier after the parade, we strongly suggest having a vehicle parked at the Charter School parking lot prior to the parade if participants will need transportation back to the staging area.
