A lifelong public servant with deep roots in the Northwest Suburbs\, she was born in Chicago\, raised in Hanover Park\, and is the proud daughter of Nigerian immigrants. As a senior congressional staffer for eight years in the offices of Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi and Senator Dick Durbin\, Yasmeen served Illinois families and worked to secure federal dollars for Chicagoland non-profits and municipalities.
