We are pleased to announce that Dr. Rosemary Feurer\, history professor at the Northern Illinois University in DeKalb is our guest speaker. This docuseries is free and open to the public and continues in our mission to engage\, educate and empower women. \nDr. Feurer’s research and teaching interests focus on labor movements and conflict in the U.S. during the late 19th and 20th centuries and how these movements affected the U.S. spatially\, socially\, and economically. Her latest project is currently titled The Illinois Mine Wars\, 1860-1930 and tells the story of the violent conflicts in Illinois that helped to establish Illinois as one of the strongest unionized states in the nation. At the same time\, she is working on a biography of Mother Jones\, the famous labor activist and agitator of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era. Aurora is Illinois’ second largest city\, and we want to show our support for our LGBTQI family\, friends and allies across the western suburbs and beyond. \nWe welcome the participation of businesses\, religious organizations\, non-profit organizations\, youth groups\, schools\, community organizations\, etc. It is a great way to show your group’s support for the LGBTQI members of our community. \nThe parade is scheduled on Sunday\, June 8\, 2025\, stepping off at noon.
