SUMMARY:GOOD TROUBLE LIVES ON: Elgin Standing STRONG!!
DESCRIPTION:Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America\, the power lies with the people. \nOn July 17\, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing\, we’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble. \nFrom voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest\, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America\, the power lies with the people\, and we’re rising to prove it. \nThis is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead\, and a new front in the struggle for freedom. \nPlease note: A core principle behind our Good Trouble Lives On actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

SUMMARY:Together: Fight the Trump Takeover!!! Rally/Protest
DESCRIPTION:In light of the current situation with the Texas Lawmakers under attack\, we are going to host an emergency rally/protest Saturday\, August 16 from 11:30– 1:00 at Silver Glen and Randall Road\, South Elgin. \nTime & Location\nAug 16\, 2025\, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM \nSouth Elgin\, Silver Glen Rd & Randall Rd\, South Elgin\, IL 60177 \nRSVP \nAbout the event\nIn light of the current situation with the Texas Lawmakers under attack\, we are going to host an emergency rally/protest Saturday\, August 16 from 11:30 – 1:00 at Silver Glen and Randall Road\, South Elgin. \nWe realize this is short notice but we are living in unprecedented times and need to step up when we can. Please plan to bring your signs\, flags and energy – and someone new. Let’s have a huge turn out – and get more people involved!! Remember this is a peaceful rally – and we won’t be distracted from our message! \nThere is parking throughout the shopping center adjacent to the rally site. Please consider not parking in open small business’ areas. \nPlease consider visiting the stores in that center. They have been patient with us and we want to continue to support small business owners. \nWe will take donations for local crisis center: \n\nGround Coffee\nPowder coffee creamer\n12-16 oz paper or styrofoam coffee cups\nDisposable bowls\nFeminine Hygiene products\nForever Postal Stamps\nLaundry Detergent\n\nWe need marshals if you are willing to help out\, please email: wecanleadchange2018@gmail.com \nWe will still hold our Labor Day rally to support Workers’ Rights – see https://www.wecanleadchange.org/event-details-registration/together-in-solidarity-with-labor-septembersolidarity \nThe Texas House Democrats are denying quorum to stop the Trump takeover of Texas and block his attempt to rig the 2026 midterm elections. But Trump isn’t stopping in Texas. He’s targeting Missouri\, Ohio\, Florida\, and every state he can twist to help him steal Congress next year. States like California and New York are starting to fight back. \nLet’s be clear: this fight started in Texas\, but it doesn’t end there. This isn’t just about redistricting or one state’s politics. It’s about the future of our democracy. Trump is terrified of the American people. He knows he can’t win on his ideas\, so he’s trying to take Congress by hook or by crook–and he’s doing it by silencing the voices of communities of color. We’re not going to let that happen. \nTogether we will demand a world that works for all of us.\n\nWe Can Lead Change\nIndivisible Fox Valley Rising\nFox Valley Activists\nIndivisible Batavia Aurora Area\nIndivisible DuPage\nHIKE @https://hikeindivisibleelgin.wordpress.com/\n\nand the Democrats of Batavia\, Elgin\, Geneva\, St. Charles\, & Western Kane County Townships

SUMMARY:Workers over Billionaires #SolidaritySeptember | ELGIN Labor Day Rally
DESCRIPTION:The billionaires continue to wage a cruel war on working people\, with their cronies in the administration\, ICE and law enforcement backing up their attacks. This Labor Day we will continue to stand strong\, fighting for public schools over private profits\, healthcare over hedge funds\, shared prosperity over corporate politics. \nWorking people built this nation and we know how to take care of each other. We won’t back down—we will never stop fighting for our families and the rights and freedoms that ensure access to opportunity and a better life for all Americans. The billionaire’s time is up. \nOn September 1st we will continue the movement we launched together on May 1st\, standing in solidarity with all our communities under attack and fighting for real wins for all our people. \nIn thousands of communities around the country we encourage you to take a stand with us on Labor Day. On the streets\, outside the offices of the corporate criminals who are behind the attacks on our freedoms and at congressional offices. Together we will demand a world that works for all of us. \nOUR DEMANDS TO BUILD THE SOCIETY WE ALL DESERVE:\n\nStop the billionaire takeover and rampant corruption of the Trump administration.\nProtect and defend Medicaid\, Social Security\, and other programs for working people.\nFully funded schools\, and healthcare and housing for all.\nStop the attacks on immigrants\, Black\, indigenous\, trans people\, and all our communities.\nInvest in people not wars.\n\nPlease note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Weapons of any kind\, including those legally permitted\, should not be brought to events. \nRSVP on Mobilize.us
